- U.S. Department of Defense Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPRO) SAPRO is responsible for the oversight of DoD’s sexual assault policy and works with the military services and civilian community to develop and implement innovative prevention and response programs.
- Obtaining military records: Military records are available from the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) either on-line at or by submitting a written request on SF 180 via fax to (314) 801-9195 or by mail to: National Personnel Records Center, 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis MO 63138.
- Requests for military awards and decorations: Requests for replacement of military service medal, decorations, and awards requests are to be directed to NPRC where awards will be verified. The request will then be forwarded by the must be to the Veteran’s respective branch of service and not NPRC. However, NPRC does not provide the replacements and will forward the request to the Veteran’s respective branch of military service for issuance of the medals.
- Other locations of service records: Members of the National Guard can obtain military records from The Adjutant General of the state of assignment. Records for members of the Reserves and others are available through NPRC.
